Ethics & Eats

The Kansas City CPCU Society Chapter kicked off Ethics Month on March 7th with an early morning gathering at Farmers Insurance in Olathe, Kansas.  The group had the opportunity to network over coffee, as well as enjoy a delicious catered breakfast.  The featured speaker was attorney Derek MacKay with Brown & James, P.C.  Mr. MacKay’s presentation provided the group an interesting (and humorous) view of ethics as encountered in the legal field.

Past President Aaron Brandenburg presented an award to President-Elect Claire Miller for her outstanding volunteer efforts with the Society.  In addition, President Ron Hamilton presented an outstanding volunteer award to Marc Frink, as well as a certificate of recognition to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) for their continued corporate support of the Society. David Keleher accepted the certificate on behalf of the NAIC.

This was the first time Farmers Insurance hosted a chapter meeting at its Olathe facility, as well as the chapter’s first breakfast gathering.  Approximately forty CPCUs and guests were in attendance.
